Caroline Crouch was killed in the Athens suburb of Glyka Nera. Her husband, helicopter pilot Babis Anagnostopoulos, initially claimed that armed burglars had invaded their home and restrained him.
Investigators found inconsistencies between his account and digital records from phones, a smartwatch, and household devices. After weeks of public appeals in which he presented himself as a grieving widower, Anagnostopoulos confessed.
A Greek court convicted him of premeditated murder and other offenses in 2022 and imposed life imprisonment. The case is legally solved and became a major focus of discussion about domestic violence in Greece.
