Investigation
Irish authorities investigated journalist Ian Bailey, who denied involvement. He was never prosecuted in Ireland. A French court later convicted him in absentia, but Ireland declined extradition, and the French judgment did not amount to an Irish criminal conviction. Bailey died in 2024.
