The Guðmundur and Geirfinnur file remains unsolved because neither man was found and five reviewed convictions ended in acquittals.
A case may be classified here through a final appellate judgment or a reviewed prosecutorial disposition that identifies the offender and resolves the legal status of surviving participants. Early suspicion is never treated as guilt.
